Cro Magnon Man

When I see reconstructions of mummified remains of prehistoric man found in
bogs I often wonder what they were like to be around?

I wonder how they treated their mates.
Did they have similar emotions as we have?
Did they cry when they experienced violence?
As we have, did they become complacent with looking at violence?
What was their level of sophistication?
Exactly how developmentally socialized were they?
Could I relate?

I know they painted and that they were territorial as we are.
I know they had a clear responsibility of stewardship with Nature, which we've lost.
And they had a clear responsibility towards their dependants.

Could it be that the only real difference between ourselves and Cro Magnon Man is that we have simply;
1. extended the human life span and
2. invented indoor plumbing, nail clippers, hair product and more practical clothing.

We think we are developed and sophisticated
I pose two questions:
1. Exactly how far have we actually come?
2. With so much violence, self-hatred, envy, lovelessness, thirst for entitlement,
bigotry, and anger; are we the missing link we are constantly looking for?

Maybe we have a long way to go before we achieve the perfection we arrogantly assume we have?
